July Update
The Redden family has been enjoying a great summer and staying busy as usual. We’ve had our share of hot days, but after talking with friends and family back in the south we quickly count our blessings! As usual we haven’t stayed still for long, with a few trips to see Kate’s family at Willow [...]
May Update
Spring has finally arrived in Denver…we think. Of course we’ve thought that a couple times so far this year and been surprised to look outside and see snow flurries! Just your typical springtime in the rockies! As the weather has warmed we’ve enjoyed getting back outside to enjoy the park, visiting with neighbors on our [...]
Sangree Froelicher Hut Trip
Last week I went with five friends, pastors from four different Denver-area churches (TNL, Denver Community Church, Calvary Baptist Church, and New Denver Church), on a trip exploring the amazing backcountry of Colorado. We snowshoed about 3.5 miles in to the Sangree Froelicher hut, part of the 10th Mountain Division Hut System. We had an amazing time taking in the beauty [...]
February Update
Thinking back to where we left off with our last update, it seems like time has flown! After a great holidays in Virginia and North Carolina with family we were back in Denver and really hit the ground running! Being away from Denver for a few weeks gave us a great appreciation to be back [...]
Year-end update
We saw ten different states this year. We drove 1500 miles across country moving from Georgia to Colorado. We drove 1200 miles from Colorado to Tennessee for Thanksgiving. We flew from Colorado to North Carolina for Christmas. We moved three times and lived in three different houses. I think to say that this was the [...]
October Update
Fall has arrived in Denver, and it feels a bit like winter back in the south!! We had a very unseasonably cold week last week and actually got our first snow! The boys were so excited to get outside and start playing in it. I think they’ve fully adapted to life in Colorado! A lot [...]
August Update
Things just don’t seem to slow down. For some reason I always associate summer as a time of relaxation and less responsibility. That must just be an artifact in my memory from long ago, because this summer has been anything but “lazy” around the Redden household!
Growing Tomatoes
There is a small patch of our back yard that the previous owner obviously used as a garden. It is a bare patch of dirt, roughly 6 ft x 20 ft set off to the side of the yard with a nice sprinkler system that you can move around to water the plants. I’ve never [...]
June Update
Life continues to stay busy at the Redden household, and so much has happened since our last update. For starters, the Redden household has a new address! On May 1 we finally moved into our house. We would definitely not recommend moving twice in four months to anyone, but we are so grateful that we [...]
Q 2009: Day 3
Here are my notes from day 3 of the 2009 Q conference. Overall Q was, again, an amazing experience. I was challenged in a variety of ways, but here are a few specific things I’m thinking about as I return to Denver: In what ways am I “privileged,” and how can I leverage that for [...]
